Experience Boheme | Experience Nostalgia

SCROLL DOWN

Experience Boheme | Experience Nostalgia

Aikeyah:

Sanskrit for"Own IDentity"

The label brings together indian elements to a sensibility that is very global in appeal, focusing on comfort and ease. The choice to work with cottons, textures and origin and moulding them in relaxed silhouettes that doesn’t confine to any particular body shape characterize Aikeyah.

It is those textures, that go into layering that bring alive
the very essence of Aikeyah.

Inspired by ‘R.K.Narayan’ authored ‘Malgudi Days’.

Malgudi, in the novel is an imaginary village. This collection is a vivid extension of the author’s thoughts on how he visualized a village in words.

Malgudi, for me is an interpretation of a land that evokes nostalgia. It is a memory. A memory I have never experienced but have translated in the choice of colors and the layering for the autumn/winter season.
It is everything that has built the label today.
A very bohemian mood lends a carefree outlook and yet doesn’t fail to reminiscence a gone by era.

Handmade Cowry Necklaces

Every necklace is handcrafted with delicate 'cowry' shells encased in our beautiful fabrics.

Each piece is handcrafted. A labour of love and dedication. The cowry shells are neatly and tightly covered in different fabrics and then sewn together in the shape of a necklace. They are all finished with coconut shell buttons.

Each necklace takes about 50-56 hours depending on the setting of the shells. Only waste fabrics are used to cover the shells. That is how we recycle our surplus fabrics.
There are all made by rural women, supporting the small cottage industry.
